mom's hot

My big kids had a sleepover at Papa and Nana's house on Easter Sunday. We got home and about an hour later I get a txt from my brother.. Aly says, I miss my mom. Uncle says, ya do you like your mom? Aly says, YA,she's my mom! My dad thinks she's hot. Uncle responds, ohh. Aly says, ya he thinks she's REALLY hot.

Did I tell that right? well it was along those lines anyhow. kinda funny or awkward or something.

What Kinda Girl I Am

I was watching Juno the other day and the dad says to his daughter, I never thought you were that kinda girl. She responds back, Ya dad I'm not sure what kinda girl I am. There's not much more of an honest answer you could give. I am 31 and I asked myself, what kinda girl am I? That was like a month ago!

So today I was driving my husband's big black loud pick up and I thought. This is the girl I am! I love big loud trucks and always have! Hearin the sound of the pipes as I rip out of a parking lot onto the highway.... LOVE IT! The other day my husband brought my Harley over for me to take for a spin. I put on my leather gloves, leather jacket, sunglasses and a hat and rode away on my steel horse! Yet again, that's the kinda girl I am! I was sitting on the rockin chair watching Carrie Underwood listen to her song Jesus Take the Wheel being song by Vince Gil and then watching her sing out with emotion How Great Thou Art and was so blessed by it! Everyday in my house is Praise and Worship music and everyday God moves in my spirit through it! That's the kinda girl I am. All three of my little ones were in their carseats in the back of the pickup and my eyes welled up with tears just seeing them and listening to them in conversation and just so proud of my babies and i love them so deeply! that's the kinda girl I am! Looking at my husband and seeing the handsome face, the soft sweet eyes of the 17 year old boy that I fell in love with 16 years ago! Watching him as he loves on my kids, loving how he tells me still I am beautiful, still getting butterflies in my tummy when he wraps me up in his arms and whispers in my ear! That's the kinda girl I am!

Two Sides to EVERY story

Actually it seems there is more than 2 sides.. there are several sides to everything. Being in business with family... many more sides to things than i can keep  up with. Business is never just business and money is the truth behind most everything that in the long run happens. At the end of the day i guess one thing does endure, family is still family. Blood is always thicker than water. SO how does one make the best decision? beats the crap outta me!

And School Board.... lalalalalalallalalallalla .... idk. there are so many sides to everyone's experience. It is super complicated. As parents we look out for the best interest of our kids and how to protect them when they grow out of our complete control. As educators we look out for the best interests of our students as a whole trying to meet the very complex variations in achievement levels. As administrators try to keep everyone accountable for providing the best education, safety, and operations of their district. As school board member..... try to keep academics the focus, providing the best opportunities for our students, opportunities for our teachers to do their job, administrators do their job, and keep things moving forward in the best possible way. We also are here to represent the public tax payers who had the faith in us to elect us and trust our judgement. UGGGGGh.

Stay at home mom.... try to keep it all together.... the family, the home, the bills, the laundry, teaching social, physical, and emotional skills, doing the best we can to try and do it all.   that's my side....

Shy or Not so Shy

The other day I was commenting to a teacher about how my lil Riy Riy is so shy and my other 2 were NEVER shy! Que overheard and corrected me saying he in fact was very shy. He was even shy last year in Kindergarten. This reminded me of occasions that may contradict.
1-A parent told me last year her son really enjoyed watching Que break dance in the front of the room!
2-At his Christmas program he was the lone student who had actions to all of the songs they sang!
3-One day I took him in a little late to class due to "not feeling well" and when we got to his class he walked in and announced to everyone he was here!
4-A teacher had him in her classroom for being "disruptive" and she asked what was going on. His response was I just have so many important things I need to tell everyone!
5-(not so funny from mom's perspective) this year the teacher had to call me and tell me that when she asked for New Year's resolution, Q raised his hand and said he was going to try and not have such stinky farts.

Pretty sure shy is NOT a word I would use to describe my little boy!

My Que is just so smart! He is witty and his little mind is always at work. He hears everything and has a perspective on all that goes on around him!
I am so very proud of him and DO NOT want to squash his spirit, compassion,or personality!

likes the computer too much?

Last night my daughter (5) was playing computer, Riy was right next to her on her chair, and I was beside him in another chair cleaning my vacuum. I turned around and within minutes of starting her game her head was on the computer hand on the mouse and she was sound asleep! I said, "hey wake up! are you done playing your game?" Her response, lifts her head 2 inches off the computer, wriggles the mouse, eyes closed, then head back down on the computer, out! 

The other simple amusement for me last night.. my 17 month old loves to chase the puppy. He just squeals he gets soooooo excited! If the puppy doesnt move he just literally dog piles on top of him until he gets up and runs and then he continues to squeal and chase!

Some Days are just Sweet!

Yesterday it was like 55 degrees! It was so beautiful! i had the best day with my husband! we rode around feeding cattle in the tractor, walked pairs out, and then went and grabbed the kids and took the 4 wheeler to pick out some cattle. It was such a wonderful day! Fresh air can be so reviving! Thank you Jesus for the beautiful days!

couple quick stories..

So my Que is the sweetest 1st grader ever! I was trying on some bright red lipstick and said, hey come here a quick minute and i gave him a bright red kiss on his cheek! so he goes to check it out in the mirror and wipes it off saying GROSS MOM! i didnt pay attention to how well he wiped it off. So the next day he comes home from school and i say.. Q you still have a kiss on you! He responds.. YA MOM THINK THATS EMBARRASSING!!!

Last night we were watching EllisMania and Uriyah was loving it! he would point at the tv, yell mom, then make a little fist and punch me! he smiled the whole way through the show and watched it intensely!! I am a bit nervous boxing just might be in his future somewhere!

baking... my cure all

I love to bake. I can make chocolate chip cookies 3x a week and not be bored of it. I can bake early in the morning, lunchtime, afternoon, evening whenever! Tonight for example it was quarter after 11pm. I enjoy it because no matter what recipe you try or how you mix and match if you put some effort into it, it will workout. Something very soothing about that. I like to bake when  I am happy, sad, busy, mad, bored, stressed, getting ready for company, wishing I had company, really anytime! I think it's nice when the world or life seems distasteful you can create something tasty!

sometimes i set myself up....

So Riy Riy decided to dump a box of cereal on the floor the other day.. annoying! so today he got into the cereal cupboard again and was trying eat it out of the box. I thought to myself.. ok i dont want another repeat of the other day soo.... So I poured a bit of cereal in a little bowl and gave it to him (not in his high chair, intelligent). He was content and began stickin his lil fingers in and eating it. I walked out of the room and heard the sound of cereal being dumped. So i went in the kitchen and sure enough it's on the floor. So i go grab the vacuum and being to vacuum it up. Uriyah gets upset and starts yelling.. HEY HEY at me ... apparently he put it on the floor so he could eat it up off the floor. Nice. Why does that amuse me???????

funny what a date can be...

So today my husband and I ventured off with no kids to enjoy a day together.. what you might ask does this sort of "date" consist of... running errands, of course Walmart, cellphone store, and without a doubt a BULL SALE! yes it was a wonderful day that would be summed up as our HOT DATE! oh and yes we did do some fine dining as well both lunch and dinner.. did i mention child free! (well i guess my brother josh was there for some of lunch) but it was such a wonderful day! the simple pleasures of just being together.... hm.. random?
